Due to problems purchasing good quality spiral bound sketchbooks with paper that Brian prefers to use and of a squarer format proportion Brian has now released his own watercolour pad and mixed media pad both in 2 basic sizes together with a set of sable mixture brushes. See below.
In association with both books, Brian has released a further three DVDs following his watercolour DVD, Ryder Round Norfolk. All these DVDs are available from The Society of All Artists.
Brian’s fifth DVD was released in 2008 showing oil painting on location and called Oil Landscapes. Quick and Easy.
Brian’s new DVD by Townhouse Films based on keeping a sketchbook was released in June 2009 called Watercolour Sketchbook and shows Brian again on location along the North Norfolk Coast paintings watercolours in sketchbook form. Both these DVDs are obtainable from the artist or from www.townhousefilms.co.uk.
As well as writing articles for Leisure Painter Magazine, Brian has produced a number of books. In 2002, his book, Beyond Realism about abstract painting was released by David & Charles and sold nearly 10,000 copies.
His second book, also published by David & Charles, Painting Watercolour Landscapes With Confidence was released in 2005 with 10,000 copies going to the USA alone, prior to any sales in the UK and Europe.
Brian is a regular contributor to the Leisure Painter magazine published by The Artists publishing company and writes articles on all aspects of drawing and painting.
